Today we are going to be taking a look at the Outrush R Modular Bluetooth Helmet. A lot of engineering expertise was put into the making of this helmet so let's take a look at its features.
The Basics: This helmet weighs about 3 lbs 13 oz, has a PC/ABS injections shell, a micro ratchet
chin, and 3 "stay cool" vents. So what's that mean ? This helmet is on par with most full face helmets in weight. Also, it has a polycarbonate / acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer blend shell (we don't really know what the means either but have been told it's a very strong plastic). Finally, the Outrush R has three vents at the the top, chin, and rear that help air pass through and keep you nice and cool.
Interior & Linings: The helmet comes with a removable, washable liner as well as integrated speakers and microphone. There are hi-definition speakers for more bass and improved sound quality for your own music or for the built-in FM radio. The Outrush also includes a rechargeable battery and charger. Bluetooth: The bluetooth system in this helmet is the latest in capabilities including hands free operation, individual preference profiles for each headset, as well as advanced audio distribution and noise control. Meaning you can chat with the other riders in your group or listen to your favorite songs without that wind noise creeping in!
Modular: Choosing a modular helmet really is based in preference, however, he are some pros we have found with the ability to flip that front piece up. A modular helmet can be a good compromise between the protection of a full face and the breathability of an open face helmet. Riders who wear glasses sometimes find modular helmets easier to wear with their glasses. Finally, that quick sip of water or even a bite of your favorite snack at a stoplight on a hot day becomes that much easier with the modular option.
Safety: The Outrush R is DOT certified and does come with reflective material and piping to help you stand out that much more during night time riding. Let's not forget the dropdown tinted visor portion so there is no need to switch visors between daytime and nighttime.
